Business Goal
Wealth Management/Private Equity client, investing in private equity deals, in the UK. Their goal was to be able to scale their Assets under Management (AUM) to £5billion in 5 years.
Client's Challenges
Small team covering admin and core responsibilities.
Manual data extraction from fund reports and generate periodic reports, which includes includes; investor portfolio reports; summary commentary; valuation reports; RM fees; Capital events (capital call, distributions, equalisation).
Handle ad-hoc investor requests for position updates.
Excel-based processes and manually updating the master spreadsheet.
Manual processes are required to keep investor accounts liquid.
The Approach
Plan: Worked with various client stakeholders to create an overall business strategy. Break down strategy into key deliverables.
Current state analysis*: Conducted workshops, interviews, gap analysis
Design: Target operating model, Requirements, data migration plan, Development, implementation + support plan.
Procurement: Fund administrators (FA) with technology platform.
Testing: Working with stakeholders and FA to create test plan, test data, and test scenarios to direct user acceptance testing of all processes, automations and reports.
Implementation and change management: Implementation of strategy, client onboarding, Change management, training, and rollout efforts for key business processes.
